News Updates

Navy Women Volleyball suffered two losses during the previous week, but they did not leave without gaining precious information about themselves and about the opponents they would play again in the future. During a tough battle against Mitchell College, Navy came up short on all three games but they were lead well by the attacks from Brandice Miller and great digs by Megan Vehovic. There was major blockage by Yasmina Johnson and Shimireah Huddleston that helped Navy stay strong. Mitchell College just seemed to be there a little more of the time. Then in a game later that week Navy came up short again facing Dean College but not without leaving a major mark that they will return the next time with want of revenge. Jeanette Bentley led the offense with smart moves of short attacks against an ordinary defense. Megan Vehovic led the team in their major defense but not without the help of Tabatha Turpin and her tearing up the front line. This led to a great win of the first game. Even though there was strong digs by Sharon Wildberger and Anna Latorre and good blocks from Yasmina Johnson and Yolanda Coil, Dean knew exactly where Navy’s weak spots were. They would hit in the right spots at the right time leaving Navy frustrated and unfortunately with losses in the next three games. Navy gained much experience from the past two games and look forward to their first home game on Parent’s Weekend against CCRI.
